Nutrition counseling is designed to help clients explore their relationship with food and nutrition in a personalized and collaborative manner.

The ultimate goal is to facilitate positive and sustainable behavior change.

Moreover, all sessions are virtual and conducted by Nikki Fata, a registered dietitian nutritionist licensed in Illinois.

If you are working with other healthcare providers I am happy to contact them in between sessions to ensure consistent care.

Nutrition counseling

Initial Consultation

Throughout this 90-minute session, which is designed as an opportunity for me to get to know you, I will first ask questions about your medical and social history, lifestyle, and food background in order to assess how to best meet your needs. After gathering the relevant background information, we will work together to set goals that inform our future work. Additionally, and with your consent I will then provide you with initial recommendations.

Follow-Up Session

During follow-up sessions, which can range from 30 to 60 minutes depending on your individual needs, I will continue to understand your background and we will delve further into your ingrained food thoughts. Together, we can explore a variety of topics, such as meal planning, body image and diet culture, and adding structure to your eating times. Additionally, we can discuss alternative coping strategies that can help you distance yourself from any negative or disordered food-related thoughts.

I'm here to help you.

Ultimately, if you feel preoccupied with food or nutrition thoughts, lack clarity around how to support your health, or are confused by inconsistent nutrition advice in the media, I am here to help.

Don’t hesitate to reach out to schedule a session and take the first step towards a healthier relationship with food.
